Brooklyn Couple’s Afro-Japandi Condo, New York 59sqm/640sqft
In the heart of Brooklyn's historic Stuyvesant Heights, industrial engineer and tech entrepreneur Oyin Antwi and her husband Jeff, a product designer, have transformed what was once a 'plain white, one bedroom, one bathroom box' into a tranquil urban sanctuary that beautifully blends their West African heritage with Japanese and Scandinavian design influences. Designed with the help of Oyin's sister, interior designer Sade Hoffschroer, with whom Oyin co-owns Via Asha Design, their 'Afro-Japandi' style home features thoughtful updates that enhance both storage and functionality while preserving the original layout. Clever details like the dropped arched ceiling beam and acoustic wood panelling create distinct zones, while earthy tones, Wabi-Sabi lighting, and custom woodwork achieve the perfect blend of style and comfort.

15 Things I Quit To Simplify My Life
In this video, I’m sharing the 15 things I’ve quit doing that have truly improved my life. From cutting down on reading and consuming content to focus more on taking action, to only taking important phone calls and saying “no” more often, I've found that simplifying my habits and boundaries has led to a better quality of life. I’ve also eliminated things like notifications, unnecessary meetings, and even junk food from my environment to reduce distractions and maintain my health goals. Other things I’ve stopped include setting rigid goals instead of systems—shifting to consistent habits instead of focusing solely on distant milestones. I’ve let go of the pressure to keep a perfectly clean home, opting instead for a nightly reset, and I no longer practice extreme frugality, choosing instead to value time over small savings. Minimalism is a big theme here; I've streamlined my wardrobe, keeping only clothes I actually wear and that make me feel comfortable. Finally, I’ve shifted my mindset from striving to be “right” to being open to learning from others, and from chasing happiness to finding excitement and fulfillment in the present. If these ideas resonate, tune in to hear more about each one and how you can apply them to simplify and enhance your own life.

These 5 Minimalist Habits Will Help You Save Money
With the holiday season come and gone, it will be hard not to cringe when you see how much money you’ve spent recently. With that in mind, you may need to live within your means for the first couple of months of the year, so here are five minimalist habits to help you save money. Minimalists will often seek out multifunction items, so instead of buying a new air fryer, they’ll buy a 6-in-1 air fryer, toaster, and rotisserie, even if the initial cost is high. These people will also try to have as many automated payments added into their financial routine, which will give them time to cipher through unnecessary expenses. While it's easier to replace something that is broken, minimalists will try to repair these items if they can in order to save money. Another minimalist habit you should adopt is ignoring other people’s opinions and not seeking external validation, as not only will it save you money, but it will also give you peace of mind. Lastly, minimalists will often adopt a ‘one in, one out’ rule when it comes to things like clothes, so if you buy a new t-shirt, try to sell one of your older items that you don’t have use for anymore.
