One of the main things everyone talks about when it comes to dryers is to make sure you do proper maintenance and clean the lint traps because lint is extremely flammable. In fact, the National Fire Protection Association reports that together dryers and washers cause an average of 15,970 fires each year and 92% of these fires are caused by dryers, costing an average of $200 in property damage.
The number one culprit of these fires? Not properly cleaning the lint from the machine. This goes to show that lint itself is an extremely flammable byproduct. Most people clean their lint traps out and toss the lint straight into the garbage bin but TikToker and genius @callbeckiwiththegoodhair saves her lint for one specific reason, and to say the least, it's genius.

The woman has a wooden bin attached to the side of her dryer with the words “lint bin” written on the side of it. In the bin, she keeps all of her dryer lint from the dryer and saves it until the stockpile grows to a larger size.
Her household also saves their toilet paper and paper towel roll inserts and uses them with the saved dryer lint to create DIY fire starters. Which can be used for summer camping trips, bonfires in the backyard or at the beach, and during winter months to get the wood stove or fireplace cranking.
The woman stuffs the lint inside the cardboard toilet and paper towel inserts and folds the ends over each other to secure the lint inside. They get stored in a dry place until it's time to use them!
